External Handrails In Timber

Haldane has manufactured and installed one of its largest handrail profiles in its history with the completion of latest external handrails project for a bus station in North East England.

The company manufactured 34 linear metres of profiled Iroko handrail which measured in at 208mm wide by 118 mm high.

Iroko is generally seen as one of the best timbers for external use. In fact it is often used for boat building and can prove to be difficult to work with, blunting tools very quickly.

Haldane primed the handrail off site with Danish Oil with the finishing coat applied in situ.
