Helical Staircases

Helical Staircases can be a real challenge for many UK stair manufacturers, however its an area where Haldane UK excels.

Working in conjunction with one of the UK’s leading architectural joinery firms, Haldane UK played a key role in the manufacture of the Helical Staircase.

The project called upon all of Haldane UK’s experience in continuous handrail to create the smooth sweeping flow of the handrail, finished perfectly with a wreathed volute. Haldane also manufactured bespoke 45mm spindles to complement the staircase.

Haldane UK’s Managing Director, Forrester Adam, explained, “It’s these type of specialist projects which include a combination of continuous handrail and bespoke stair components that Haldane excel thanks to our CNC and timber machining expertise.”

Forrester concluded, “The lime finish is a slightly unusual request but, as the photos show, it certainly paid off. In fact the end result was so impressive it even surprised the joinery firm, who described the overall stair as the best he has ever fitted.”
