Haldane UK has demonstrated its expertise in manufacturing and installing complete staircases with this stunning fantail staircase in a luxurious Glasgow home.
Manufactured from American Cherry, the continuous spiral handrail is complemented with matching treads, risers and stringers and set off perfectly with contemporary mild steel spindles finished in black.
Haldane UK’s unique ability to machine complex timber components ensures the continuous handrail spirals effortlessly through transitions into the horizontal rail and forms the first floor atrium area.
Haldane also project managed the metalwork on the project, reinforcing its commitment to providing clients with a complete staircase solution and not simply the timber handrails.

Haldane UK has completed a major spiral handrail project in London’s trendy Campden Hill area.
Haldane was contracted to manufacture and install stunning American cherry handrails to the five story luxury town houses which are being valued over £6-7 million each with one house in phase 2 already reserved for a price of £12million.
Each of the homes feature elegant staircases with stainless steel balustrades to the lower ground and first floors and then flow seamlessly into a spiral staircase which provides access to the remaining upper floors.
The smooth flow of the handrail is achieved by a combination of raking wreaths, 90°bends and ramp components manufactured with Haldane’s unrivalled machining skills which achieve accuracies of up to 4/1000 of an inch.
For that finishing touch the stair case features profiled ends which are machined to ensure the luxury feel is maintained.
The houses also feature a rear staircase from the first floor terrace to the pool area on the lower ground, however, as you would expect in such luxury homes, the handrails feature 40mm diameter European Oak with stunning swan necks and ramps.

Haldane manufactured and installed over 150m of American Cherry split elliptical handrails which clad the feature metalwork.

The Bluewater Shopping Centre is the epitome of quality in its design and workmanship, and the bench mark to which all future developments, whatever their size, will be compared.
Developers, the Lend Lease Corporation were vehement on the high level of quality that should be presented, from the polished marble floors, to the sculptural balustrading, to the shop fronts and barrel-vaulted roofs.
Split into three malls, each carrying its own theme, Haldane UK, the market leader in specialist wood products, demonstrated its proficiency in the manufacturing and installation of the timber balustrading, cladding and specialist wood products, such as the eye-catching lamppost structures.
The spectacular wrought iron balustrades in the East Mall, entitled Rose Walk, are complemented with stunning maple handrails. The West Mall’s, boutique/West End feel is reflected in the 70mm American Cherry handrails with a stunning array of wreaths, ramps and spiral handrails.
The full extent of Haldane’s skills have been put to the test in the requirements for the South Mall, which contains a nautical theme and fitted out in American white oak.
The striking 120mm x 70mm handrail is only the start of the Haldane influence.
The timber cladding of steel balusters, the boat shaped staircases and the spectacular lamppost columns are the key features of the mall which takes precednce over all other in the centre oozing with quality and excellence.
